In accordance with the decision of the Governing Body of Ysgol y Faenol in September 2021, the implementation date of the proposal to increase capacity at Ysgol y Faenol to 315 learners was delayed from 1 September 2021 to 25 April 2022. (A copy of the letter shared with the stakeholders in September 2021 can be found below).
At their meeting on 15 March 2022, the Governing Body of Ysgol y Faenol decided to “delay implementation of the proposal to increase the capacity of the school to 315 pupils, from 25 April 2022 to 23 December 2022, on the grounds that it would be unreasonably difficult to implement on the implementation date (25 April 2022) due to delay in the construction schedule, and as discussions regarding the transfer of school grounds are ongoing”.
On behalf of the Governing Body of Ysgol y Faenol, an electronic copy of a letter setting out the reasons for delaying the implementation date is shown below:

As part of the process of modernizing the school it was decided to redesign the logo and school uniform. The colours of the school uniform were decided following consultation with all the school's stakeholders and the children were asked to come up with their ideas. Following this, an artist was commissioned to work with us to design the logo.
It is important that the logo conveys our ethos and values and links with the history of the school and the Faenol Estate. Read on to understand why this design was chosen.
The school is currently closed, here is a message to our pupils:
This is Mali, our School Dog on her first day at the school. Mali will be working alongside the children to develop their wellbeing.
