Healthy eating
Breakfast – we offer on rotation various cereals, toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs all served with a variety of fresh fruit. Milk or water to drink is always offered.
Snacks-
- Children that are in day care but finish at 3 or 3:30 are given a variety of fruit with water to
drink.
- Children that stay later are given a light snack of fruit with crackers, cheese and yogurt;
pasta with fruit on the side; sandwich with cucumber and fruit; bagel with cheese and fruit.
Water to drink.
- Mini club are offered various fruit.
- After school and holiday club children that stay after 3:30 are offered in weekly rotation
Pasta- plain, with tomato sauce, cheese or both
Sandwiches- egg and/or ham, various fruit
Crackers with butter or cheese, cucumber, peppers and tomato
Bagels with butter or cheese, various fruit
Wraps with mackerel or cheese, various fruit
Water is always available to drink.
If the children do not like the snack that is offered they have a choice of toast.
Children bring their own packed lunch when in daycare and also in holiday club. Healthy options are always encouraged to be eaten first. Food can be stored in our fridge if no cold pack in put in their lunch bags. During hot weather tip tops are given as a treat but water is always available to drink.
